The Humble Mind

The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree…

Hi there 👋🏽 My name is Anjali, mindset coach and founder of The Humble Mind and if you haven’t already guessed it, I too was no stranger to ‘The Problem’. Growing up as the eldest child and only daughter in a South Asian household, I was very much aware of the cards I had been dealt and how I was expected to play the game. I stuck to the safe routes, the ones that guaranteed stability and security, the ones that would keep everyone nodding in approval.

By the age of 25 all my ducks were in a row – I was a qualified pharmacist, on my way to becoming an independent prescriber, I had been in a committed and loving long-term relationship, and I had just bought my very first home. On paper, things didn’t seem so bad. It’s only when you add in a few missing details does that picture suddenly not seem quite as pretty…

The truth is, behind the facade, I was a lost soul knee-deep in a quarter life crisis. Every choice I made was in pursuit of what I believed to be the ’safest’ option. In fear of tarnishing my ‘overachiever’ reputation, convinced asking for help would be seen as a sign of weakness, there’s no surprise why burnout followed me like a shadow throughout my pharmacy career. Being in a secret relationship for a whopping 5 years, petrified of the judgment and rejection I would receive due to it’s unconventional nature, also wasn’t a relationship milestone I intentionally set out to achieve. Oh and moving out of my family home? A radical act in the hope a fresh start would fix everything? Yeah definitely not my wisest moment. But for me at the time, that was life as I knew it, an uphill battle mined with compromise with every decision, where you deal with things until…well, you can’t. And that’s exactly what happened, I kept going until I simply couldn’t…

So why am I telling you any of this?

Because I know what it’s like to feel guilty for complaining about a life your parents wish they could have had. I know what it’s like to keep gaslighting yourself into believing your struggles are not ‘severe’ enough to seek support. I know what it’s like to keep bottling up your emotions in the hope they will just pass because you can’t afford to fall behind. I know what it’s like to wake up one day, look in the mirror and feel completely let down by the stranger staring back at you. And when you finally reach that point of acceptance, I know what it’s like to not know who or where to turn to for help.

Resolution Vs Evolution

Whilst therapy was instrumental in delving into deep-rooted emotions and addressing core issues, I yearned for more than just healing my wounds and cleaning up the aftermath. I was determined to find a way of bridging the gap between awareness of the need to change and actually doing something about it. I wanted to choose growth and change without the needless suffering which comes from acting too late. A future-focused approach that would arm me with the skills and the mindset to turn pain into purpose, mistakes into milestones and self-doubt into self-mastery. An approach which made me realise that it’s never the load that weighs you down, its the way you carry it and what you decide to do with it.

Which brings me to you.

I am not just a mindset coach. I am an ally, an advocate, and a partner in transformation, driven by the desire to become for others what I longed for on my own journey – a compassionate guide who sees your potential, your strength, and your innate ability to truly dig deep and figure your shit out. I’m here to support individuals, regardless of their age, through every step of the way from the floundering depths of self-discovery and healing, right the way up to revealing their most empowered and authentic selves. My role isn’t to promise a problem-free life or claim to know exactly what it is you need. It’s to equip you with the mindset and tools to not just deal with whatever life throws your way, but to consistently thrive in the face of it over…and over…

And over again.
Having built The Humble Mind from the ground up, I can confidently say I still sometimes get stuck in self-doubt and have crappy days, just like the rest of humanity. But it’s from finding my place and purpose in this chaotic world that I choose to keep going and growing anyway, ultimately to help others do the same.

If you’ve stayed with me this far, thank you. I appreciate the time you’ve taken to get to know my story. And if you’re ready, let’s chat. I’d love to hear more about you and your story. If not, stick around and come back when you are – either way, I hope this is just the beginning for us.
